PUMA\u2019S Engineering Department staff includes engineering and design specialists in all subjects regarding an industrial project.\r

Our main goal is to participate in projects beginning with early stages of conceptual design, in order to guide our customers focusing in optimization of CAPEX, OPEX and timing for their investments. Always keeping in mind the goal of adding value engineering.\r

the integration with our Construction and Assembly areas distinguishes us, where we aim to offer an integral service to our customers, together with specialized companies that can add value to the process.\r

Due to our \u201cIn house\u201d Engineering capability, we achieved important synergies between PUMA\u2019s different areas, reducing delivery times, risks and margins during development of projects in which we are involved.\r

Value Engineering<\/span><\/h3><\/div>
Consists in the revision, evaluation and analysis of available data, in order to identify chances of improvement or design optimization, by reviewing either client\u2019s or third parties Engineering.\r

The main purpose is to analyze and apply corrective measures in time, to maximize resources and reduce costs keeping or improving its performance, having in mind customer\u2019s expectancy.<\/div><\/header><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Conceptual Engineering<\/span><\/h3><\/div>
It is the first step of a Project. Conceptual Engineering defines, on a preliminary basis, some aspects as follows: required capacity for installations, equipment, layout, locations and general provisions, flow charts of main processes, studies of access roads. This allows us to make investment estimation (+\/- 30%).<\/div><\/header>

Basic Engineering<\/span><\/h3><\/div>
It is based on a deep analysis to the previous Conceptual Engineering, which result is the input data for this design stage. Basic Engineering defines different topics as follows: definitive locations, inspection of areas for equipment, review of flow charts to elaborate preliminary P&ID, single line diagrams, preliminary calculation for supplies (concrete, structures, electrical, sanitary etc.), preliminary determination of operation conditions, weight and dimensions of main process equipment, equipment specifications (Data sheets), preliminary lists, Investment estimations (+\/- 20%). <\/div><\/header>

Detail Engineering<\/span><\/h3><\/div>
Aims to obtain the detailed design of the installation, needed to proceed with the construction. Detail Engineering defines topics such as Basic Engineering; equipment layout plans; definitive Flow charts and P&ID; final Routings and pipelines; definitive calculation of mechanical, hydraulics and electrical systems; equipment, material and work specifications; issue of bidding documents and purchase orders for all equipment and materials which purchases has not been previously processed.<\/div><\/header>

The Engineering Department is conformed by a permanent staff of Mechanic Piping, Structure, Electricity and Instrumentation Civil Engineers, and Architects supported by multidisciplinary Designers, that enable us to be a multipurpose team.
